The Golden State Warriors, was a lame duck team until they traded up for Baron Davis. Once Baron was healthy engough to play real minutes, the team started to look like an actual team. The Warriors hope to build on that success in 2005-06.
Baron Davis, At point guard brings the funk. He's often unguardable. Off the bench, the steady Derek Fisher comes in, flexes his muscles and looks like he's hustling and stuff.
The Slam dunk phenom Jason Richardson produces many buckets from the 2 spot. And Mickael Pietrus makes like J Rich when he steps on the floor.
Mike Dunleavy (Small forward) is still trying to find his role in this league. He's sort of a point/forward, developing his own game and creating for others.
Troy Murphy rebounds like mad man from the power forward spot, finishing 5th in the league in boards per game. Right behind him at the 4 spot is Ike Diogu (Rookie), an small, but hard working power forward who was taken in the lottery and may surprise the people who felt he'd be a limited NBA player.
The center spot right now is up for grabs. Adonal Foyle was meant to be the starter, but he doesn't seem to be improving at anything (Wow). Perhaps Andris Biedrins can steal the starting possition. Chris Taft (Rookie), who was expected to be taken in the 1rst round but was available in the 2nd, hopes to shun the critics and earn his minutes at the power forward and center positions.
Any team with the likes of Baron Davis and Jason Richardson in the backcourt is a team worth watching.
