The Portland Trail Blazers John Nash (GM) announced that the Nets have rescinded a sign and trade that would have sent Shareef Abdur Rahim (Forward) packing to New Jersey in exchange for a 2006 NBA 1rst round pick and the team’s trade exception.

“We were notified by the NETS that they were rescinding the sign and trade for Rahim,” said Nash. “They cited some concerns after his physical examination and they believe that rescinding the trade is in their best interest. The NBA contract that was agreed to with Rahim becomes null and void and now he is a free agent.”
