The New Orleans Hornets announced that they have re-signed free agent Chris Andersen (forward/center).

No terms of the contract were not released.

“Our top prioritie of this summer was to re-sign Andersen due to the development of his overall game last NBA season,” said Allan Bristow Hornets (GM). “We’re excited to see Chris continue that progress while still giving us his hustle, his defense and rebounding that got him to where he is today.

Chris originally signed with the Charlotte Hornets on July 16th, 2004 after spending the 1rst 3 seasons of his NBA career with the Nuggets. Chris averaged 7.7 pts and 6.1 rebounds while leading Charlotte with 1.49 blocks and a .534 (191-358) field goal percentage in 67 games last NBA season. Chris, a crowd favorite in the New Orleans Arena, was the team’s leading scorer off the bench and posted career high totals in virtually every offensive category.
