The post-Shaquille O'Neal era officially started on Friday with the introduction of the Heat's two newest players, Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. Both were acquired Wednesday February 6th, in a trade with the Phoenix Suns. Marion will likely make his Heat debut on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Thursday, the Heat lost 101-84. That marked the team's sixth straight loss and 21 of the last 22 games. "I think when Shawn gets here and Marcus gets here, we'll be very offensive-minded," Riley said on Thursday.
Marion averages a little over 18 points and 10 rebounds per game for his career. For the year, he's getting 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Riley admitted he would have to become a more perimeter-based offensive team after losing Alonzo Mourning to injury and trading O'Neal.
