Welcome to sports as only Norm McDonald knows them.
For the debut of his sports show, the always funny McDonald decided to spend a day dressed up as the hottest rookie in the NBA, Blake Griffin.
Clearly, the joke was having Griffin play an out-of-shape version of himself, or of Norm McDonald, but nonetheless it was fun to watch Blake ham it up out there.
The scary part was that it was eerily similar to the way I play basketball, but without the swearing and walking off the court after I miss a wide-open jumper and start screaming that I was fouled.
It was nice to see Griffin have a little fun, because up until this point, Griffin has been a beast on the court, and an absolute snoozefest on the microphone.
He's not exactly personality plus, so getting help from one of the funnier men on television now should be a nice way of showing that Blake's got a fun side. The only issue I had with the spot, and it's a nit-picky one I know, is the shoes DeAndre Jordan was wearing...come on. It looks like he's wearing low-top Chuck Taylor's.
They're OK if you're doing laundry on a Saturday afternoon, or if you wear a backpack with patches on it and own Apple everything, but if you're ballin', you probably aren't trying to break your neck with a pair of shoes that have the traction of a Slip 'n Slide.
But I'm just saying.
At least he was funny.
